Being charged with a criminal offense can be a devastating experience.  Our criminal practice is committed to vigorously defending your rights and confronting your charges while minimizing your exposure and anxiety.  Although being charged with a criminal offense can be traumatic, having incompetent representation can be even more detrimental. 

Although we are qualified to confront any and all criminal offenses, our primary focus is criminal litigation stemming from the following criminal charges:

Drug Offenses:
The firm specializes in all levels of criminal drug possession, sale and distribution including but not limited to: possession with intent to distribute (PWID), simple narcotics possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and other misdemeanor and felony drug charges.

Assault Charges:
The firm’s practice ranges from defending clients in simple assaults and assault on a Police Officer (APO), to aggravated assaults while armed, as well as different levels of sexual assaults and charges stemming from domestic violence, including violation of civil protection orders.

Weapons Charges/Other:
The firm also has extensive litigation experience in all levels of weapons and ammunition possession and usage as well as various levels of criminal theft, sexual solicitation, breaking and entering, burglary, sale and production of counterfeit goods and receiving stolen property.

Criminal Appeals:
The firm has experience with a wide range of criminal appeals, from post-conviction appeals and ineffective assistance of counsel motions to direct and collateral criminal appeals in front of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Criminal Traffic:
There are generally two categories of traffic offenses: moving violations and other minor traffic violations punishable by civil fines; and the offenses referred to as criminal traffic, which are punishable by potential jail time in addition to statutory fines. 

The most common criminal traffic offenses stem from the use of drugs or alcohol and operation of a motor vehicle.  Depending on the levels of drugs/alcohol in the blood, the charges may include:

  • DWI  -- driving while intoxicated

  • DUI   -- driving while under influence

  • OWI  -- driving while impaired

Additionally, there are civil consequences associated with DWI/DUI offenses, including but not limited to: possible suspension of driving privileges, seizure of property and other related civil penalties.

  • Leaving after collision

  • Reckless/negligent driving

  • Driving with a suspended license

  • Driving with a revoked license

  • Driving without a license

  • Driving without insurance/registration
